nesting spots......

I have some guinea fowl who just wonder around the garden...........
actually the farm...........they go where they want.......but they roost in the tree in the chook yard........
they lay nests...........in very odd spots..........and it seems everyone lays in the nest until someone sits on them...........but they are all on the ground.......
sometimes you find random eggs in the chookyard on the ground........
we have found a few nests..........at first one we thought one of them had died..........finally found the nest under the tank............second nest was in front of the hay stack in the blazing sun............couple of tyres and grass butts to hide near but no shade for the poor fowl who sat on the nest for months with no result...............the next nest was in the grass along the side of the fence and the bulls decided to eat the grass and destroyed the nest.............now they have made a new nest...............right in the agapanthus garden............crazy things..........
we got suspicious a few times but nothing.........today I looked and there are 17 eggs in the nest.........
yes you can eat the eggs...............they look just like normal eggs once cracked..........
Some goodies I forgot to show........some more backgrounds for the NJ quilt.....................
got these at The Home Patch.........it was back in Jan when the sale was on.............
glorious 29-30 deg yesterday and today.............not lasting for long though.......heating up again.......
off to girls drinks...........have a good weekend............
Catch you later..........
Chookyblue......

Those guinea fowl sound like funny birds. They pick some strange places for their nests! It must be like an Easter Egg hunt everyday! Very pretty fabrics.

I'd have to watch it if all those eggs were lying around as I'd likely tread on them! Good shopping there!

I wonder if the guinea fowls have any luck sitting on this clutch of eggs? Let's hope so. What a great haul from Anni's. May I please have a peak at Lori Holt's book at Nundle. It is one I've been thinking of getting.
